The Niagara was launched in June of 1813
It was the victor in the Battle of Lake Erie on September 10. 1813 The famous quote from Oliver Hazard
Perry was scrawled in pencil on the back of an old envelope:
Dear General Harrison,
We have met the enemy and they are ours. Two brigs,
one schooner and one sloop
yours with great respect and esteem,
Oliver Hazard Perry
The ship was bult using a copy of the original blueprint and is historically accurate.
The scale is: 1/4 of an inch equals one foot.
